School Principal

I began my first year here at this campus in 1992 as the 5th/6th grade teacher, previously teaching for nine years at First Lutheran in Burbank. I spent my childhood in Eugene, Oregon and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from the University of Oregon in 1980. In 1983, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Many changes have taken place since those early teaching days. I became a foster parent, I own a home (or rather the bank does), I am a mother of four, and I transitioned from teacher to teacher/principal. Through all these changes the Lord has made it clear to me what my calling is. My love for the children here at Concordia grows stronger with each passing year. The relationship that develops with my students and their families richly blesses my life. To the classroom, I bring a “no nonsense” style of teaching, but create a nurturing environment for students to thrive in.

I feel privileged for the opportunity to serve as principal, as well as teacher. This is not a task I take lightly, and you can be sure I will pray for much guidance and wisdom from the Lord. I look forward to building positive relationships with families school-wide; as we join together in teaching our children to reach their full potential, which is only possible through Jesus.
