Hello! My name is Melissa Carter, and I’ve been a teacher at Concordia Christian School since 2018. I absolutely love our school and am so thankful to be working here! Our gracious and merciful Lord and Savior has been so good in my life, and I strive to bring Him glory while teaching and serving here and in all that I do. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and now reside in Santa Clarita with my family. I have always felt a strong calling to work with youth, as I believe these are incredibly formative years, and it’s a privilege to be able to have a impact on their lives.
I received my B.A. in History and Political Science (2006), as well as my teaching credential (2007), from Concordia University in Irvine. With many years of classroom teaching experience, and a background in youth ministries, corporate training, project management, and sales coaching; I bring a unique set of skills and perspectives to my teaching. I believe strongly in servant leadership and developing intentional, joyful, grateful, and motivated learners who are equipped to serve others and be successful. My hope is to lay a foundation for my students that will allow them to thrive now and in whatever God has planned for their future.
I have been married to my best friend since 2007, and we have 4 amazing children. My life is very busy and my heart is very full. When I am not working, I love spending time with my husband, children, family, and friends. My passions include serving, traveling, exploring, reading, being active, listening to music, and attending live concerts and events.
